Autumn Aloft Hot Air Balloon Festival in Park City

Autumn Aloft Hot Air Balloon Festival This Fall in Park City

Snow, skiing and winter sports are the top activities people usually think about when Park City comes to mind. Did you also know Park City hosts a spectacular hot air balloon festival annually every fall?

Autumn Aloft first launched in Park City more than 30 years ago. This event unites visitors and residents of all ages to celebrate Park City and embrace the beginning of autumn. Park City is so ideal for hot air ballooning that the town even hosts a yearly event dedicated to this recreation.

Every September, the second weekend of the month is set aside to appreciate these colorful giants during Autumn Aloft. Balloonists from all over the world come to Park City and show off their magnificent hot air balloons. From traditional to unique, you never know what shape balloons you may see, from frogs and owls to rainbow-colored balloons.

Autumn Aloft is Park City’s only hot air balloon festival scheduled for September 19th and 20th, 2020. For the event’s seventh year in a row, participants will be able to watch as pilots heat balloons for their morning launch. The hot air balloon event starts at 8 a.m. Saturday morning. Participants can enjoy activities and grab your camera for beautiful pictures of hot air balloons against the Utah blue sky and mountain backdrop.

Be Ready For the Balloon Launch!

Autumn Aloft balloon meister Mike Bauwens invites participants to see the launching of over two dozen hot air balloons during this event sponsored by Wells Fargo. “Autumn Aloft invites spectators to experience up to 24 hot air balloons inflating and launching from a single location. Park City residents and visitors often see hot air balloons from afar. Still, it is hard to comprehend the magnitude of the aircraft until you are mingling amongst them.” Balloon launch starts at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday at 2530 Kearns Blvd in the North 40 Fields in Park City.
